<p>A rack (5) for securing large, heavy, industrial sized cylindrically shaped objects (10), such as coils, on the flatbed (71) of a vehicle for transportation, made from two parallel angle beams (11) welded to at least two cross-members (21) disposed perpendicular to the beams. Each beam has an inside inclined portion (12) facing inwardly and covered with a rubber insert (81) to carry the weight of the coil. The outwardly facing inclined portion (13) of the angle beam supports the inside portion from collapse. A header beam (41) on an end of the beam pair prevents longitudinaly movement of the coil out of the rack. There is also shown a means for securing the rack to the flatbed.</p> |
