The antenna is used in mobile telephones. The telephone has a main housing (3) with the meander antenna (2) located at a suitable position. The antenna may be combined with a retractable whip antenna (5). The meander antenna is formed on a dielectric that can be flat or cylindrical, using the space of a conventional helical antenna. The antenna is formed as an etched conductor pattern with the radiating element extending from a feed point to a free end. The conductor can have an rectangular form, with alternating parallel sections. Multiple antennae can be formed together from different lengths, for use on different frequency bands. |
