PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor for putting call incoming information in order by suppressing the recording of useless call incoming information at an automatic answering telephone set having a function for recording the call incoming information in response to a call incoming signal arriving from a telephone line. SOLUTION: After caller information coming from a telephone line 1 is received and temporarily stored by a caller information receiving means 4, based on the prescribed coincidence relation, it is judged whether or not the call incoming information is to be recorded in a storage area 12B of a storage means 12 between that temporarily stored caller information and information stored in a storage area 12A of the storage means 12 and afterwards, operation control at the time of call incoming is finished while or without recording the call incoming information in the storage area 12B of the storage means 12.
