PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute compression/expansion processing at low cost by changing the number of plural compression/expansion processing parts to be set for compression processing in the cases of inputting only image data, simultaneously inputting and reading the image data and reading only the image data. SOLUTION: Compression/expansion processing parts 506-509 are parallelly connected and corresponding to setting by a CPU 503, the compression or expansion processing of data is executed. When just inputting or reading the image data, the CPU 503 sets all the compression/expansion processing parts 506-509 so as to execute compression or expansion processing. When simultaneously inputting and reading the image data, two of compression/expansion processing parts 506-509 are set to execute compression processing and remaining two of them are set to execute expansion processing. Thus, when inputting/outputting data, all the compression/expansion processing parts 506-509 can be effectively used. |
