PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a recording while saving the consumption of toner without impairing the reproduction of color and hue by conducting thinning processes of picture data employing the signals, which are obtained by frequency dividing horizontal synchronization signals while synchronizing to vertical synchronization signals, as a reference and outputting the picture signals which are thinned in a subscanning direction. SOLUTION: A thinning means is constituted of a D flip-flop circuit 30, a two input NAND circuit 31 and two input AND circuits 32 to 39. The thinning processes of picture data 29 are conducted if the data 29, which correspond to BD(beam directing) signals 27 being horizontal synchronizing signal are not outputted every time the circuit 30 toggles or not outputted by the circuits 32 to 39. If a toner consumption saving mode is set, the thinning processes are conducted for the picture data using the signals, which are obtained by frequency-dividing the horizontal synchronizing signal 27 synchronizing to vertical synchronizing signals (TOP signals) 26, as the reference, the picture signals, which are thinned in the subscanning direction, are outputted and the picture data are recorded employing the signals. |
