PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user perform change operation of a map minimum by allowing first and second maps displayed on the 2-screen to be different from each other in display mode, when a map is switched from a single screen display to 2-screen display. SOLUTION: A control device 6 obtains a current position based on the signals from a GPS receiver 1, a gyro 2, and a wheel speed sensor 3, and reads a map data out of a map data storage device 4, for displaying a road map containing a current position on a display device 7. Then the control device 6 performs 2-screen display process for a map for the display device 7 when a power source supply is started. In that case, a heading-up display (car's advancing direction is up on a map) is presented on a left side screen of the display device 7 while a North-up display (North is up on a map) on a right side screen in reduced size. Then, the control device 6 obtains a current position based on the signal from the wheel speed sensor 3m, for updating the display of current position and map. |
