<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode an inputted image with a small memory capacity even when it is a progressive scanning image or interlaced scanning image by providing a decoding control means for outputting a prescribed timing signal. SOLUTION: A header analytic means 10 analyzes header information multiplexed on an inputted video stream and outputs encoding mode analytic information 21. When the encoding mode analytic information 21 shows the frame encoding of the progressive scanning image, at a decoding control means 15, a 3rd timing signal 19 instructing the start of decoding in the middle of a display start signal is outputted as a decoding timing signal 23. When the encoding mode analytic information 21 shows the field or frame encoding of the interlaced scanning image, a 1st timing signal 17 instructing the decoding start in a top field and a 2nd timing signal 18 instructing the decoding start in a bottom field are outputted as the decoding timing signal 23.</p> |
