PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce a residual current outputted from a light receiving element for receiver just after the end of an optical signal transmission, by arranging a light emitting element and a second light receiving element parallel in the direction nearly orghogonally intersecting the prolonging direction of first, second optical waveguides. SOLUTION: A laser diode 46 is mounted on a substrate 34 opposite to the end part of the optical waveguide 40, and the receiving photodiode 48 is mouted on the substrate 34 opposite to the end part of the optical waveguide 42. The laser diode 46 and the receiving photodiode 48 are arranged forming a line in the direction nearly orthogonally intersecting with the prolonging direction of the optical waveguides 40, 42. The laser diode 46 is provided with two excitation ends 46a, 46b. Then, the matter that backward light emitted from the excitation end 46b of the laser diode 46 is made incident on the receiving photodiode 48 is prevented. Thus, a leakage current outputted from the receiving photodiode 48 just after the optical signal from the laser diode 46 was transmitted is reduced remarkably. |
