<p>A sealable enclosure for wafers has a door (36) with an easily accessible and disassembleable latching mechanism (60) which utilizes a minimal number of moving parts. The door (36) includes an enclosure with a cammed member (80) rotatable on a post (110) and in engagement with a pair of latching arms (82) that extend, retract, move upwardly and downwardly or forwardly and rearwardly depending on whether the door (36) is a front side door or a bottom door. The movement of latching arms (82) is accomplished by cammed portion (100) of the cammed member (80) configured to move cam follower portions (136) of the latching arms (82) in an axial direction with respect to the cammed member (80) in a radial direction. The latching arm (82) pivots on a fulcrum (170) within the enclosure (56). The latching mechanism (60) is accessible through a panel that attaches by integral detents (184) on the panel (180) that cooperate with the recesses (198) on the interior edge walls (55) of the door enclosure (56).</p> |
