The flip-top cigarette pack has at least one printed strip (25) between the pack and the outer covering (13). The printed strip is durably bonded to the pack by an adhesive and is at least in two parts also bonded to the inner surface of the outer covering. A section of a continuous web is cut for the outer covering (13). The printed strip (25) is positioned at the covering material in the relative setting for the pack shape, and is held in place by an adhesive. The free side of the printed strip (25) on the film is coated with an adhesive and the outer covering (13) is cut free.
