The use of substituted imidazolidine-2,4-dione derivatives of formula (I) is claimed for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of pain. R1 = 1-6C alkyl or 3-6C cycloalkyl; R2 = 1-6C alkyl, phenyl, -(CH2)1-3-Ph or -(CH2)1-4-COOR5; or R1 + R2 = -(CH2)4-6-, -(CH2)2O(CH2)2- or -CH2-o-C6H4-CH2-; R3 = H, 1-5C alkyl or -(CH2)1-4-COOR5; R4 = pyridinyl, pyrazinyl, mono- or dimethyl-pyridinyl, R6-substituted thiazolyl, methyl-isoxazolyl, benzo-2,1,3-thiadiazolyl or 5-(R7)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl; R5 = 1-3C alkyl; R6 = H, 1-4C alkyl, Ph or benzyl; R7 = H, 1-4C alkyl or CF3.
