Portable power-driven trimmer with brake

The trimmer (2) has a cutter mechanism (C) with brake (12), a driving engine or motor (4) with coupling to the mechanism, and an actuating mechanism (38) for the brake which operates when the trimmer is set down on the ground. An additional brake-actuating mechanism is operated by the user independently of the first one. The coupling can be of the centrifugal type with drum, while the brake has a friction shoe acting against the latter.
