PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric sterilization device and method, capable of easily, safely, and surely killing fungi present in a conductive medium or suppressing their growth. SOLUTION: An electric sterilization device includes an anode 10, a cathode 20, and a power unit 30 applying a dc voltage between the anode and cathode. A conductor 31 is connected to the anode 10 and a conductor 32 to the cathode 20 to form a dc circuit between the anode and cathode. The cathode 20 is buried in an agar media 50, which is stored in a laboratory dish 60. The anode 10 is placed at almost the center of the cathode 20 and buried in the agar media 50. Sterilization is effected by carrying direct current through a conductive medium. |
