PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a calcium antagonist having secretion-inhibiting activities of parathyroid hormone, comprising an acid extract of a material obtained by firing a calcium-containing material derived from a plant by a specific method, and further to provide a method for producing the calcium antagonist, and a calcium preparation with heightened utilizing rate, which is the use thereof. SOLUTION: This calcium antagonist or improver of absorption and utilization of calcium, having secretion-inhibiting activities of parathyroid hormone comprises an aqueous solution obtained by firing a calcium containing material derived from a plant in vacuum and acid-extracting the fired material. A calcium preparation having improved absorption and utilization of the calcium preparation is obtained by adding the improver of absorption and utilization of calcium to the calcium preparation. The method for producing the improver of absorption and utilization of calcium comprises a step for firing the calcium- containing material derived from the plant at 300-1000 deg.C preferably in vacuum or in a reduced pressure and a step for dipping the fired product into a strong acid to extract the fired product. |
