A gastric resident object having elastic stimulus members, which is admitted into the rumen, functions as a substitute for roughhage and stimulates the mucous membrane and the wall of the rumen, so that the rumen can be maintained healthily and appropriately. Thus, it is possible to lessen the use of roughhage in quantity and decrease the excretion, to thereby curtail the costs for dealing with the excretion and feeding for the ruminants.
