Process to remove sediment deposits from the bed of inland waterways especially lakes and ponds

In a process to remove unwanted sediments from the floor of a body of water, especially a pond or lake, the sediment is broken up and agitated by a downward-directed water jet emitted from a sledge and dragged across the lake bed by a tow cable and boat. The novelty is that the water jet is a high pressure high frequency pulsating jet which loosens and liberates sediment from the lake bed. Also claimed are (a) Pre-filtering of incoming water prior to its take-up by the jet; (b) Addition of abrasive substances such as sand to the water directed at the lake-bed; (c) Directing the jet to the lake-bed at about 20 deg to the perpendicular; and (d) Imparting the high-frequency pulses to the water jet by mechanical means in or on the jets.
