Handbrake for agricultural vehicle

A hand lever operated brake for an agricultural vehicle is applied via a mechanical linkage to pull brake shoes into brake drums. Each brake shoe is fitted with an electric sensor which makes contact with the brake drum when the brake is applied and activates an indicator light in the cab. When the handbrake is released the driver has a clear indication when the brake shoes are out of contact with the brake drums, ie. the indicator light switches off. The system replaces a sensor on the handbrake lever itself.
