<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of obtaining a high- quality image without the scattering of toner at the time of performing a transfer, without the need of a static charge removal mechanism and of preventing the generation of the hollow character. SOLUTION: In an image forming device, an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier 1 is turned into a visible image by a developing device 4, and the toner image on an intermediate transfer belt 7 is secondarily transferred to a recording medium P by a bias roll 10 after being primarily transferred. The intermediate transfer belt is structured with at least two layers; that is, a base material which consists of a material excellent in a mechanical characteristic such as polyimide resin and has a Young's modules of >=35000 kg/cm<2> , and a surface layer which consists of a material whose surface energy is small such as fluororesin, and whose volume resistivity is within the range of 10<10> -10<13>Ω.cm. When the intermediate transfer belt is structured with three layers, it is preferable that an intermediate layer consists of an elastic material or a material whose surface layer has a Young's modulus of <=15000 kg/cm<2> , as an adhesive layer.</p> |
