NITRILE RESIN FOR CARRIER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the nitrile resin for a carrier suitable to be used as the resin for a carrier for electrophotography and the like by preparing the nitrile resin to have excellent formability in the production process of a carrier and to give good balance of high electrification stability to the carrier. SOLUTION: This resin is obtd. by copolymn. of 100 pts.wt. of the monomer mixture of unsatd. nitrile and alkyl acrylate in the presence of 1 to 30 pts.wt. of the rubber copolymer containing >=50 wt.% conjugate dienes. The nitrile resin has 50 to 69 deg.C glass transition temp. The matrix component of the nitrile resin except for the rubber component contains 45 to 80 wt.% unsatd. nitrile units and 20 to 55 wt.% alkyl acrylate units and has 30000 to 150000 weight average mol.wt.
