<p>A rotational clamp (48) for coupling a rib projection (44) of a mixing bowl (26) to an arm (24) of a mixer housing (12) includes an internal channel (76, 78) to prohibit the build up of air borne food particles and fluids between the mating surfaces between the clamp shaft and cylindrical bore. The channel (76, 78) provides for a fluid communication between the surface of the shaft (50) facing the cylindrical bore (52) and the lower end surface (72) of the shaft (50) below the bore (52). This channel (76, 78) facilitates drainage of fluids entrained between the surface of the shaft (50) and the inner surface of the bore (52). The shaft (50) also includes an annular depression (66) milled into the surface of the shaft. This annular depression (66) substantially reduces the surface area contacts between the surface of the shaft (50) and the inner surface of the bore (52).</p> |
