The kit comprises a grooved window (10) formed from two sheets of structural glass (12,14). Between these sheets is a layer (16) of transparent plastics and an elastomer seal (22) covers the edge of the glass sheets. A frame retaining section (34) has a flange bolted (46,48) onto the aircraft chassis and a second flange clamping the edge of the glass sheets against the chassis.
