PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide catalyst composition showing special selectivity in relation to production of 1-butene and/or 1-hexene by oligomerizagtion of ethylene. SOLUTION: The catalytic composition is obtained by mixing at least one of chromium compound with at least one of aryloxy-aluminum compound of a general formula Rn Al(R'O)3-n (in formula, (n) is an integer showing value of 0, 1 or 2, R denotes straight chain or branched hydrocarbon group containing 1-30C and R'O denotes aryloxy group containing 6-80C) with at least one of hydrocarbyl-aluminum compound of a general formula AlR"m X3-m (in formula, R" denotes hydrocarbon group containing 1-6C, X denotes chlorine atom or bromine atom and (m) is a number of 1-3). |
