PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift locking device for a vehicular automatic transmission without an operating failure since wrench is not generated to a member for impeding the rotation of a select plate even in case of large load being applied to a detent pin by pressing operation of a push button during shift lock. SOLUTION: A lock cover 13 is used as a means for impeding the rotation of a select plate 10 during shift lock. This lock cover 13 is held between the select plate 10 and a slide plate 6a, a fixed member, during shift lock so as to impede the rotation of the select plate 10. Accordingly, even when a push button 3 of a shift knob is pressoperated during shift lock and the lowering force of a detent pin 5 is transmitted to the select plate 10, pinching is not generated to the lock cover 13 for impeding the rotation of the select plate 10, so that an operating failure is not generated. |
