PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device in which predetermined output torque complying with steering torque from a steering input shaft is outputted to a steering output shaft for performing optimum power assist while durability and efficiency of a feeding brush for supplying electric power can be improved. SOLUTION: In a power steering device, a motor unit 34 is constructed of the first motor unit 32A and the second motor unit 34B, while the first movable magnetic pole element and the second movable magnetic pole element, which are movable relatively to the first fixed magnetic pole element and the second fixed magnetic pole element, are turned in compliance with steering torque. At the moment of excitation to the motor unit 34, the first motor unit 34A and the second motor unit 34B are connected together in series, while in a normal drive time of the motor unit 34, the first motor unit 34A and the second motor unit 34B are connected together in parallel. In this way, rush current to the motor unit 34 can be suppressed, so that deterioration of a feeding brush can be reduced. |
