PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ceramic in which hinokitiol(HT) is coordinated with Ca-ion or Mg-ion present in a ceramic, and the heat resistance and light resistance of HT are improved by adding an aqueous solution of HT or molten HT at a temperature higher than its melting point, to a suspension consisting of water and the ceramic and reacting them with each other. SOLUTION: A ceramic [e.g. tobermorite (5CaO.6SiO2 .5H2 O), xonotlite (6 CaO.6SiO2 .H2 O), wollastonite (CaO.SiO2 ), amorphous gelatinous calcium silicate, calcium aluminate hydrate (3CaO.Al2 O3 .6H2 O), calcium aluminate complex hydrate (ettringite), etc.], is suspended in water, and then a HT aqueous solution is allowed to react with the ceramic to coordinate HT with Ca-ion or Mg-ion in the ceramic. |
