The mounting assembly has a rigid plate (2) with at least four slots (4) formed in it arranged as pairs on two edges (10) of the plate. Two ribs (5) are fitted on their edges to the same side of the plate between the two pairs of holes and parallel to them. In this way, a volume (8) is defined between the two ribs and the plate. Two straps (3) are provided and each one is inserted through two of the holes to fix the plate and two ribs to the steering wheel (1) of the vehicle. The previously defined volume is positioned adjacent to the steering wheel.
