PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously detect the attachment conditions such as the positioning of a process cartridge, attachment failure of the cartridge, or absence or presence of the cartridge by cover opening or closing operation. SOLUTION: A cover which is opened or closed at the time when cartridges C, D are attached or detached, a positioning member 25 which moves corresponding to the cover movement to be interlockingly engaged with the cartridges C, D and position the cartridges, and movable members 26a, 26b which restrict the movement of the positioning member 25 are installed in the main body frame 1. A contact body 31 to be brought into contact with a presser body 29 as to move the positioning member 25 close to or apart from the cartridges C, D by the movement of the presser body 29 following the cover movement and positioning bodies 30a, 30b to be engaged with engagement bodies 24a, 24b of the cartridges C, D at prescribed positions are formed in the positioning member 25. |
