Uses a Bragg (RTM) network at the interface end and forms a narrow reflective filter whose central wavelength varies with temperature. The fibre optic (16) includes a Bragg (RTM) (28) network at its free end. The device collects the reflected light, and includes an interferometer system (34) whose step distance is large with respect to the coherence length of the light source (22) and small with respect to that of the light reflected by the Bragg network. The device is associated with photo-receivers (36) connected to a data processor (38) which determines the gas-liquid interface and the temperature acting respectively on the Bragg network.
