The phase chopping control (1) is used for regulation of the effective voltage supplied to an ohmic load (3) by a periodic voltage source of variable frequency and amplitude. The guidance parameter for regulation of the effective voltage is obtained from the source voltage via an electronic circuit. The latter may provide the regulation guidance parameter using a defined mathematic relationship between the amplitude of the source voltage and the guidance parameter
