Liquid detection method for refrigeration compressor

The detection method is used to indicate the presence of a liquid at the input of the refrigeration compressor (4). The method involves measuring the pressure of the refrigeration medium at the outlet of the compressor and evaluating the amplitude of the pressure variations. The presence of the liquid is indicated when the amplitude of the pressure variation is above a given threshold value which may have a peak-to-peak value of 1 bar. An electrical signal represents the pressure filtered, so that only the amplitude variation within a given frequency range is evaluated.
