FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a mixture of polyethylene glycol monomethyl esters as an antihydrate addition agent of the general formula CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>n</SB>H, where n = 1-8, mean molecular mass 150-170 of the following composition, wt.-%: CH<SB>3</SB>OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>OH 5-20; CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>2</SB>H 17-30; CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>3</SB>H 22-29; CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>4</SB>H 13-25; CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>5</SB>H 6-17; CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>6</SB>H 2-9; CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>7</SB> 0.5-5, and CH<SB>3</SB>O(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>8</SB>H 0.1-1. Freezing point of an addition agent and water mixtures containing 20% water is 5-7 C lower as compared for dry addition agent. Also, the proposed addition agent exhibits low viscosity. Invention can be used in gas, petroleum and chemical industries. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of an addition agent.
