PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which can transmit signals from dust detecting means being provided on a floor nozzle to a remote operation part side without arranging a lead wire in a stretchable extension pipe, and controls the driving of an electric blower by the signals of the dust detecting means. SOLUTION: On a floor nozzle, a motion detecting means 4 which detects reciprocating motions of the floor nozzle, a light emitting element 12 and a light receiving element 13 which detect dust, a signal processing part 17 which controls the lighting up, etc., of a floor nozzle display means 19 based on a dust existence/absence signal from the light receiving element 13, and a transmission means 25 which outputs a light signal when the signal processing part 17 inputs a dust existence signal, are provided, and on a remote operation part side, a receiving means 27 which receives signals from the transmission means 25, and a micro-computer 31 which changes the drawing force of an electric blower 38 when received a signal from the receiving means 27 are provided. |
