PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a carburetor, and reduce manufacturing cost by permitting a valve closing member whose position can be regulated to be engaged with a throttle valve using at least one jointing element. SOLUTION: A hole 21 is formed in a housing 2. A valve closing member 22 is guided in a vertical direction so as to be movable in the hole 21. Three positions different from one another are generated at the free end 33 of a lever 17 by a valve shaft 26 or a pin 30 being moved in an axial direction. At an idling position, the pin 30 is in the area of the lever 17 by the end part which is nearer to a collar 29 in its radial direction. When a valve 25 is opened, the free end 33 of the lever 17 passes the collar 29 in the radial direction to be locked at a first starting position behind a wall 31 in the radial direction. When outside air temperature is very low, an internal combustion engine requires concentrated air-fuel mixture for starting, therefore, the second starting position is formed. It is thus possible to provide a carburetor which has a simple structure and can attain low manufacturing cost.
