PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject more effective a safer powder, desirable for the aging society and administrable without adverse effects by steaming a leaf of Thea sinensis L., then cooling the steamed leaf thereof, compressing the cooled leaf and subsequently drying the resultant pressed juice. SOLUTION: This pressed juice powder is produced by placing a fresh leaf of Thea sinensis L. in a steaming basket, then rapidly cooling the steamed leaf, compressing the cooled leaf thereof with a press and drying the resultant pressed juice. Since the leaf of the Thea sinensis L. is discolored to brown and deteriorated in flavor when allowed to stand in a just plucked state for >=5 hr, the fresh leaf within 5 hr at most after the collection is preferably used. Effects of this invention are not changed even by producing the powder in any seasons; however, a more desirable raw material is a leaf of the Thea sinensis L. of a new bud especially good in flavor and taste. |
