PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the capacity to purify a fluid, in a treatment material for purifying a fluid coated with photoexcited catalyst, by providing irregularities on the surface of base materials such as fibers comprising transparent substances to increase the area of the coated photoexcited catalyst and by causing turbulent flows by means of the irregularities. SOLUTION: An inlet port 3 and an outlet port 4 for a fluid to be treated are provided on the outer surface of an outer cylinder of a double cylindrical treatment vessel 2 in which an ultraviolet lamp 1 passes through an inner cylinder made of transparent glass, and treatment materials 6 for purifying fluid prepared by coating glass fibers, on which irregularities are formed by dipping the fibers in a solution containing hydrofluoric acid, with titanium oxide are filled into a space between the inner and outer cylinders whose upper and lower positions are defined by filters 5, 5, wherein photo exited catalysts are disposed in a three-dimensional manner, the whole of which is in contact with the fluid and light is irradiated from the lamp 1 in the inner cylinder, and hence the fluid can be purified efficiently. |
