PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fancy woven fabric that can express a colored painting on the woven fabric with good color development by the ink-jetting method. SOLUTION: (A) Sheet base material 1 coated with crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol on its surface in 5μm thickness is cut to prepare yarns, or (B) the resultant same yarn is twisted around the core yarn or (C) one of these two yarns is twisted together with the yarn of a natural material. These yarns are woven and the resultant woven fabric is color-painted by the ink-jetting method. In another case, the sheet base material is color-painted on its surface by the ink-injection, the painted base material is cut into yarns. These cut yarns or the sheath-core yarn prepared by twisting the cut yarns around the core yarn and these yarns are used as painting yarns to weave the fabric. In the cases of the yarns of (B) and (C), the woven fabric is coated with crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol on its surface before the color painting.
