PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of releasing only a biologically active compound by a required amount thereof into an object to be protected by including the biologically active compound and a specific polyphenol compound therein. SOLUTION: This sustained release composition is obtained by including (A) a biologically active compound [a microbicide (e.g. 5-chloro-2-mthyl-3- isothiazolone), a marine antifouling agent (e.g. 4,5-dichloro-2-n-octyl-3- isothiazlone) and an agrochemical (e.g. ziram)] and (B) a polyphenol compound represented by the formula [A is dicyclopentadiene, etc.; R<1> is H, etc.; R<2> to R<6> are each CN, etc.; (m) is 0 or 1; (n) is 0-100] [e.g. 2,6-bis(2',4'- dihydroxybenzyl)-4-methylphenol]. The weight ratio of the ingredients A to B in the composition is preferably (0.1:99.9) to (95:5). |
