<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dechlorination agent which makes harmless a harmful component such as a chlorine gas generated through a thermal treatment of a material to be treated containing a chlorine component, by causing a chemical reaction to occur with the harmful component, and also generates a harmful component-free chloride even in the residue. SOLUTION: The dechlorination agent containing a carbonic potassium substance which produces a harmless chloride through a chemical reaction with a chlorine gas is a basic means as the dechlorination agent which reacts chemically with the chlorine gas in a heated atmosphere containing a low level of oxygen. The dechlorination agent is such as either of potassium carbonate or potassium bicarbonate or a mixture of two or more different types of such a material to be selected as positive examples of use. Further, the dechlorination agent comes out in either of the forms such as lump, plate, porous, powder, solution and suspension and is brought into contact with the harmful chlorine gas.</p> |
