PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy and complete sterilization apparatus of a pipeline or the like which is especially utilized as suction pipeline and probably has miscellaneous germs adhering thereto by a method wherein the tips of individual optical fibers composing an ultraviolet irradiation member is cut aslant and a diffusively emitting part for diffusing ultraviolet rays is formed on the tip side of the ultraviolet irradiation member over the entire circumference in a specified length. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic irradiation member 22 is constituted of an optical fiber winding body 20 and a flexible tube 21. Light emitting ends 24b of an optical fiber winding body 20 are cut aslant so that the direction of inclination of the light emitting ends 24b is arranged roughly in a tangential direction with respect to the direction of winding the optical fibers 24. When ultraviolet rays admitted from the direction roughly orthogonal to light incident ends 24a from an ultraviolet irradiation lamp 26 are emitted from the light emission ends 24b, the emitted rays are ambiently diffused toward the direction of the inclination thereof, thereby sterilizing the internal surface of a pipeline through which the ultraviolet irradiation member 22 is inserted.
