The gas storage opening method involves a gas bag fill opening which is closed via a bursting disc (6) disposed at the touching point (11) of an electrode (10) forming part of a current path. On the flow of a current, the disc melts at the electrode, and an arc is generated in the gap between the electrode and the bursting disc leading to further melting and eventual bursting of the disc under the pressure of the storage gas pressure.
