PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device having high scanning efficiency of a polygon mirror. SOLUTION: Plural numbers of polygon mirrors 21, 22 whose phases of peripheral reflection surfaces 21a, 22a are made to be different are laminated, rotary driven, a laser beam from a laser beam source is alternately (successively) given to the plural polygon mirrors 21, 22 by using a light deflector and the reflected beam from each polygon mirror is transmitted again to a single main- scanning plane using a beam synthesizer. When reflection occurs in the peripheral part of the reflection surface of a polygon mirror (in the case the laser beam becomes futile), by irradiating the reflection surface of another polygon mirror with the futile laser beam, inefficiency is eliminated and the scanning efficiency is improved. |
