PORTABLE INFORMATION TERMINAL EQUIPMENT CAPABLE OF UPDATING PROGRAM BY USING PC CARD AND PROGRAM UPDATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update a program only with a PC card without an additional mechanism by executing an adaptive program and storing the new program stored in a storing part in a program storing part. SOLUTION: A card part 202 is a device where the PC card is inserted from an external part or ejected and where the new program and the adaptive program stored in the inserted card 200 are read/written. A storage part 210 is a kind of memory by which reading/writing is freely executed and the new program and the adaptive program are temporarily stored. A control part 214 executes control for shifting the new program and the adaptive program stored in the card 200 which is inserted to the card part 202 to the storage part 210 and, after that, the adaptive program is controlled so as to be executed. Moreover, the adaptive program is executed in accordance with the control signal of the control part 214 and the previously stored program is exchanged into the new program so as to be stored in the program storing part 208.
