PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembling workability of a rotary connector using a flat cable. SOLUTION: A movable housing 2 having an inner cylinder part 2a is rotatably coupled with a stationary housing 1 having an outer cylinder part 1a, and a movable body 5 having one opening 7 is rotatably disposed at an annular housing part 6 partitioned therebetween. A first and second flat cables 3 and 4 are overlapped each other, its outer end is collected at a stationary joint part 8 fixed at the outer cylinder part, an inner end is collected at a movable joint part fixed to an inner end, in s state in which a winding direction is reversed at middle reversal parts 3a and 4a, the outer and inner cylinder parts are wound in reverse direction, both of the reverse parts are passed through an opening, and an opening scale is set toθ>=720Nt/(d+D). In this formula,θis an angle formed by two lines connecting the center of the inner cylinder part and both ends along a circumferential direction of an opening, N is the number of maximum rotations of a movable housing, t is a thickness of a flat cable, d is an outer diameter of the inner cylinder part, and D is an inner diameter of the outer cylinder part.
