PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic equipment provided with an optical type input device and a proximity alarming method in the electronic equipment capable of realizing a function for alarming the proximity of an operator at a low cost. SOLUTION: Infrared ray signals for operation input corresponding to inputted operation contents transmitted from the infrared ray transmission/reception unit 13 of an infrared ray type controller part 11 are received by the infrared ray transmission/reception unit 12 of a home television game machine body 10 for household, the infrared ray signals for distance measurement are transmitted from the side of the body 10 in response to the reception of the infrared ray signals and the infrared ray signals are received on the side of the controller part 11. A distance between the controller part 11 and the body 10 is measured from the time difference of the transmission timing of the infrared ray signals for the operation input and the reception timing of the infrared ray signals for the distance measurement, and in the case that the measured result is shorter than a predetermined lowest distance, the infrared ray signals for alarming are transmitted from the controller part 11. The body 10 displays an alarm screen on a television monitor at the time of receiving the infrared ray signals for alarming. |
