FIELD: ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: instrument has cutting blade and housing which accommodates spring-loaded rod coupled to handle rigidly. Rod is capable of reciprocation along longitudinal axis of instrument. Instrument includes mechanism of rod prompt displacement. Mechanism allows rod to move forward, with handle depressed, to move backward under the action of spring and to perform transverse fixing motions with handle rotating around rod axis in extreme positions. Mechanism is made as through recess on instrument housing with longitudinal guiding part and transverse locking terminations. Recess contacts projection provided on cylindrical surface of rod. Displacement handle is manufactured in form of sleeve mounted for overlapping of recess during axial movement of rod to inoperative position. Cutting blade with holder in which it is fixed is coupled to rod by means of thread. EFFECT: safe operating conditions, prompt replacement of cutting blade. 2 dwg
