<p>Pressure balancing and rinsing device in a vessel (1) with at least one concave end, where the vessel comprises a chromatographic separation or reaction chamber (5), at least one distribution or collection plate (3), at least one pressure balancing chamber (4) defined at least partly by the end of the vessel and one side of the plate (where the separation or reaction chamber is partly defined by the other side of the plate) and a first pipe (6) linking a first fluid with the distribution plate. The separation or reaction chamber communicates with the pressure balancing chamber through a rinsing (flushing) chamber (10) which has a first orifice. The device also has a feed line for a second pure or uncontaminated fluid connected directly to the rinsing chamber so part of the second fluid can circulate to the balancing chamber through another outlet orifice and the remaining part can circulate through the separation or reaction chamber via the first orifice. The balancing chamber is connected to means of evacuating the fluid it contains. Use of the device for chromatographic separation of a mixture of hydrocarbons includes xylenes, or a mixture of aliphatic hydrocarbons. Also claimed is a process using the above device for pressure balancing and rinsing in a reaction or chromatographic separation chamber, with the second fluid being a solvent, the looked-for product or a mixture of the two.</p> |
