The present invention is directed to a mold clamping device which can produce a mold clamping force under high pressure and which comprises a supporting plate (12) for supporting the tie bars (11), a stationary template (14), said stationary template (14) being provided with the mold clamping cylinders (13) on its upper and its lower portion, plural tie bars (11) arranged horizontally between said supporting plate (12) and said stationary template (14), a movable template (17) arranged vertically between said supporting plate (12) and said stationary template (14), booster cylinders (18) fixed on the top and the bottom side of said stationary template (14) respectively and connected to said movable template (17) through piston rods and half nuts (19) connected to the corresponding half nut cylinders (22) and intended to be contacted to one side of the movable template (17) at its upper and its lower portion, said half nuts (19) being threadedly combined wiht the tie bars (11), wherein adjusting means for fine adjustment of the positions of the tie bars (11) are disposed on said slidingly supporting plate (12). |
