PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the liquid crystal display device equipped with a back light which is a subjacent type matching, specially, a large-size liquid crystal panel and arranged behind a panel and facilitates its lamp replacement and has high projection light uniformity. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a liquid crystal panel consisting of a couple of liquid crystal substrates 2 arranged opposite each other so that at least one of them has electrodes and a liquid crystal layer 3 sandwiched between the liquid crystal substrates, a couple of polarizing plates 1 which are arranged across the liquid crystal panel, a control means which applies a voltage corresponding to a display image signal to the electrodes, and the back light 8 including a light source for irradiating the liquid crystal panel from behind. In this case, the light source consists of linear lamps 6 arranged right below the effective display area of the liquid crystal panel and semicylindrical reflectors 7 reflecting the light from the respective lamps and the respective lamps and reflecting reflectors slide in one body toward the flank, enabling attachment to and detachment from the frame body of the back light. |
