PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a casting pattern which is increased in surface strength and is lessened in the surface roughening, damage and breakdown in removing by coating the surface of a main body made of an expanded resin with a curing resin and glass fibers. SOLUTION: The surface of the main body of the casting pattern made of an expanded polystyrene foam, etc., and worked to a desired shape is coated with the curing resin, such as unsatd. polyester resin, and the glass fibers, such as chopped strand mat. The glass fibers are laminated on the thermosetting resin or are incorporated into the thermosetting resin. Core materials, such as metals, wood and rigid resins, are inserted into the main body for the purpose of reinforcement at need. The surface is colored for color coding to facilitate management. Since the main body of this casting pattern is made of the foam, the casting pattern is light in weight, convenient to carry and easy to mold. The surface is not deteriorated and the management is easy in spite of exposure to storm. |
