A method of moulding a generally flat article and apparatus for moulding in which one or more inserts (19a,19b) are on a mould face (17) to define a surface of the moulded article (24), after which the material to be moulded is introduced into the mould (16), whilst this is maintained in such an orientation, while the material cures or hardens that the said mould face (17) is inclined to the horizontal at an angle at which the or each insert (19a,19b) is retained on the said face (17) against slipping by friction but at the same time gas bubbles in the moulded material can escape through gas-outlet means at a part of the mould which is uppermost in the said orientation maintained during the moulding process. An apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed with means for supporting the mould in an inclined orientation. |
